NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING CLIENTS
I've always had a deep love for the human sciences and building unity and harmony in interpersonal connections. My choice to pursue this as a career was informed by the importance of mental health, psychology, and the interdependence of human interactions in our lives. I studied psychology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where I received my bachelor's degree. I never really felt like I was studying during my years of education; instead, I always felt like I was learning something new and useful that I could use in my daily life. While in Vancouver, I volunteered at the Canadian Mental Health Association, and I also worked with kids at various events. It was such an insightful experience to see individuals progress through life while also struggling with mental disorders and how beneficial and reliant they were on government services that ensured their safety and functioning.
Moving to sunny Southern California was a delightful and rewarding experience for me. Compared to living in Vancouver, which started to feel like a comfort zone, I was exposed to a more vibrant and busy lifestyle. With less rain, it was a lovely change nonetheless. After being exposed to various situations and people, I decided that the Touro University Worldwide LMFT program would be the most suitable for me. It continues to teach me the value of family dynamics and systems and how human connection is the cornerstone of personal development and fulfillment. I worked with couples, adolescents, and staff at the organization throughout my practicum, but I spent the most time working with elementary-aged children. That age group turned out to be my true passion. Children are such lively, sincere, honest, fun, and curious learners. Guiding children on how to control their own emotions and to recognize how their feelings affect their learning, social skills, and family dynamics felt wonderfully fulfilling. My goals for the future are to get my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and, ideally, to inspire the next generation of children to be mentally and emotionally resilient and intuitive.
